Everyone has surely noticed that our platform to offer free forums and premium services is only getting better. Downtime and service disruption was an oddity and now we have after a long period of low charges for advertising removal started to charge fees for our services.

Some have expressed their negative views on that we disable inactive accounts and charges to activate them again. And many wonder why it now costs money to open a new account GetWebs.org ($12).

Firstly, we want to start by saying that we commit many errors, but I believe and hope that it will be apparent that we will do our best.
If anyone feels disappointed with our services or work, so I am the first to apologize!

Now we want to answer the most common questions we receive:

- Why do you disable inactive accounts, and why do you do it without notice of it?
Our services are free and has no monthly fee (but not new accounts are charged), the forums are advertisement funded and we must be able due to saving resources, delete boards that are not active. In many forums, an admin of the forum has not been logged in for several months and these forums are often full of inappropriate spam. We do not have the opportunity to examine each one of these forums and can not wait for an admin of the forum to show up and delete this spam as a forum with advertisement must be completely clean from this. We have for example, forums that are completely abandoned and that can be filled by the very terrible spam posts just an hour and we do not have the chance to wait to put these forums offline.

Not to communicate in advance that we will disable inactive accounts is something that you can find in our terms. We hope that everyone understands that there should be perceived as no surprise that we put an inactive account that is completely free offline without notifying about this before.

- Why do you charge to re-activating forums?
That we now charge more for our services means that our users are taking more responsibility for their accounts and it gives us more opportunities to remove advertising and provide security so as not to disable accounts that are inactive. Creating a Free Forum and take responsibility for it should be free, to do the opposite must have some kind of consequence. But the fee is set very low and get the entire 6 months of free advertising forum in price, we think ought to be very attractive!

But why are'nt you sending a message that you intend to shut down my forum first?
We have a situation where we have thousands of abandoned forum where some are totally abandoned long ago, many of them have been filled by the terrible spam, since many forums have allowed anonymous users to post, and then not to review the forum regularly. A forum that is ad-financed must be clean from all this.

We have deliberately turned off the forum without sending warning first, because your board does not suddenly become active just because you take a quick look to the Forum only when you have received our message, your board will most likely remain inactive and can be filled with spam at any time. Therefore, we thought it would be better to only pay $7 for 6 months free from ads for your forum then it can in principle continue to be inactive, and spam is not as dangerous to enter.

- But now getforums.org is not free anymore?
getforums.org does actually not exist any more, but you are most likely thinking in the possibility to activate ready-made free forums on the GetWebs.org hosting. But we are restarting the new service GetForums.org the 1:st of March, hosting free forums and I'm sure you will enjoy the new service!

- Ok then, but now is not GetWebs.org completely free?
We do not any longer offer anything for free on GetWebs.org, that we have changed and information on our main pages have changed. Our old accounts are with out on mercy and be disabled immediately if they are not active. Payed accounts will not be disabled and we can provide better assistance and support for existing active payment accounts we have.

But I think we still are very attractive to offer web hosting without the monthly costs that are completely ad-free.

Our biggest problem has been we've had tens of thousands of accounts that turn on the web, cms, blog, etc which then fills with spam and we calculated that these empty accounts that are only used by the spam bots are taking up 10 servers extra. We have neither resources or developed technologies to 100% determine if accounts are used or not.

With a reasonable fee, we can weed out those who know what they want and take responsibility and those who do not take his account seriously and takes responsibility.
